Art of Dog - February 11, 2012
Shear Paradise Pet Salon is hosting a fundraiser on February 11th where proceeds will benefit Our House of Hope K-9 Rescue, a non profit all breed dog rescue. I'm excited to announce that Liz Mazur Photography will be one of the exhibitors! I'll have discounted rates on photo sessions and am also giving the opportunity to win a free shoot. My Family
2011 was a difficult and trying year for us. We had to say goodbye to two pets who were members of our family for over 12 years, and my dad was diagnosed with throat cancer for the second time. He not only had to under go a laryngectomy, but had a lymphadenectomy as well. Recovery was rough, leaving him in the hospital for a month and a half and without a voice for over 4 months.
Thankfully, my dad made a full recovery and we were fortunate enough to be able to spend another Christmas with him. This year, my parents, husband, and I celebrated the holidays with my sister and her beautiful family in New Jersey (the first Christmas we've all been able to spend together in 4 years).
Of course, I had to take this opportunity to capture the time we spent together. We haven't done this enough over the years, and I am making sure that we do from now on because nothing is more precious than a memory that can be shared with others. :)

The Shah Family
I have the pleasure of working with Ami at my full time job. I've known her since she was pregnant with her oldest daughter, and also got to admire her pregnant belly with her second daughter too. When she asked me to take her family pictures, I was honored. I think everyone can agree with me that this is really a beautiful family.

I'm taking on a 30 Day Photo Challenge
I've always loved challenges and have seen a lot going around on Pinterest and Facebook, so I was pretty excited when I came across this one hosted by Our Wired Lives on That Wife's blog (she's a Chicago based photographer whose work I admire). Since I'm still new to photography, I decided to join the challenge to see what I could come up with.
